Casey Calvert

Casey Calvert, the guitarist with the band Hawthorne Heights, died Friday night. According to reports he was healthy and joking with friends that evening and died at some point during the night in his sleep. The band found out about it the next afternoon.

, was found dead early Saturday morning. Calvert was 26-years-old.

 

According
to several accounts Calvert appeared healthy on Friday night while
spending time with friends before going to sleep for the night. Those
same reports indicated that Calvert passed away at some point while
sleeping.

 

Calvert’s sound played a big role in

Hawthorne

Heights

and its highly successful second album If Only You Were Lonely which debuted at #3 on the Billboard charts and produced the hit single “Saying Sorry.”

had a show in

Detroit

,

Michigan

on Friday night and was scheduled for a show on Saturday in

Washington

D.C.

Of course, everyone has their suspicions when a healthy youth, especially one in a rock band, dies young. However, fellow band members ask us to put that idea right out of our heads:

Today is probably the worst day ever.
Its with our deepest regrets that we have to write this. Casey Calvert
passed away in his sleep last night. We found out this afternoon before
sound-check. We’ve spent the entire day trying to come to grips with
this and figure out as much as possible.

At
this time we’re not sure what exactly happened. Just last night he was
joking around with everyone before he went to bed. We can say with
absolute certainty that he was not doing anything illegal. Please, out
of respect to Casey and his family, don’t contribute or succumb to any
gossip you may hear. We don’t want his memory to be tainted in the
least. Casey was our best friend. He was quirky and awesome and there
will truly be no others like him! His loss is unexplainable. As soon as
we know more we will let you know.

There will almost certainly be an autopsy and probably an inwuest as well, at which time we’ll find out what did kill him.

    I barely found this out Monday night that he died. My older sister told me but I didn’t believed her because she hates Hawthonre Heights. But when i got on the internet yesterday and read that he died. I cried because he was my favoirte one out of Hawthrone Heights. =[ Now, I wish he comes back because he was a good screamer and a GREAT guitarist. <333 I’m wearing my Hawthonre Heights tshirt today in a memory of him. I miss you and I love you Casey Calvert [1981-2007] You will be miss terribly.

    Casey was a wonderful guitarist, and he put so much passion into his music. It’s a shame and a loss that he is gone. I wish I could have gotten the privlidge of seeing HH live, but I guess I csn’t now. I hope the band doesn’t break up, they should continue in his honor. RIP Casey, I love you.

    Ohhhh man, we cried forever over this!!!!!!!, how could something so horrible happen to such a great and amazingly talented dude!!!!!!!, from everything that we have seen on tv, the internet, and myspace, there has never been anything bad said about CASEY, and to whoever feels the need to make fun of our little angel!!!!!!, your are then one’s will feel sorry for. u guys obviously have no room talk, casey wasm’t emo!, in fact betcha didn’t know that Adam Lazzara of taking back sunday didn’t even no what emo was when you guys started calling him and his band Emo,!!!!, emo is a trend and it will fall!!!!!!!!!!, AND ALSO -You make fun of Casey and say things about him, but he went out and made something of his life and isnt just sitting at home on myspace and youtube trying to keep himself entertained by making fun of people GO OUT AND GET A LIFE !
    AND TO THE POPARAZZI AND THE PRESS AND NEWS CHANNELS-you guys shows tons of interviews, and information on tons of celebritys out there, like Paris Hilton, linsdey lohan, and especially, ANNA NICOLE SMITH, why do u still show her on entertainment tonight every week and night, she died how long ago, and when she did die that is all that any news station would show. she died from taking toooo many pills, and the fact is that no one made her, no one shoved them down her throat, so why take forever to bury her????

    Casey Calvert was an amazing guitarist and an overall amazing person. i am so sorry for his loss. my heart goes out to his family and friends.Casey will never be forgotten. he will always live in our hearts.WE LOVE YOU CASEY!!!!
