Grammy Nominations

The Grammy Nominations for this year have been announced andas part of the service here at the TWTE, we can bring you the details of those very Grammy Nominations.

The highlights are Amy Winehouse getting 6 nominations (and being nominated for all of the important ones as well) and Kayne West getting 8 nominations:

Kanye West received eight nominations for the 50th annual Grammy Awards on Thursday, leading a varied and surprise-filled pack.

Female
singers were the talk of 2007, and Amy Winehouse received six
nominations, four of which are in the top general categories. Winehouse
is the only performer represented in album, record, song and best new
artist.

Winehouses Back to Black will compete with the Foo
Fighters Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace, Vince Gills These
Days, Herbie Hancocks River: The Joni Letters, and Wests
Graduation for album of the year.

The Foo Fighters are also
up for record of the year; Rihannas Umbrella is up for record and
song, and a year after Corinne Bailey Rae walked away empty handed
after receiving three noms last year, she receives a song nomination
from the album that was eligible last year.

  1. I think most people stopped caring long ago. The fact that The Times had a picture of Amy Winehouse splashed over their internet home page this morning left me feeling quite depressed.
