Katie Cassidy

Katie Cassidy seems to have had a decent start in life:

Cassidy was born in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of ’70s pop idol David Cassidy and former model
Sherry Benedon; the two had an "on-again, off-again" relationship
during the 1970’s-1980s, resulting in Katie’s birth, 15 years after
first meeting. Cassidy’s paternal grandparents were actors Jack Cassidy and Evelyn Ward. She grew up in Calabasas, California
with her mother and stepfather, Richard Benedon, an ER physician. She
now has a close relationship with her real father, David. She has two
older sisters, Jenna and Jaime. As a child, Cassidy took to tumbling and eventually became a cheerleader for the California Flyers, a competitive team. She cheered as a freshman for Calabasas High School where she attended classes and graduated in 2005. As a child, Cassidy became interested in show business.

Her Mom insisted she graduated high school before she did any professional acting and she’s had a number of small parts in various movies and TV shows since then. She’s also fallen foul of the near insane US alcohol laws.

Katie Cassidy was cited in Tucson, Arizona
on October 30, 2007 for a Minor in Possession of Alcohol and presenting
a false identity to law enforcement officers. She had a reported blood
alcohol content of 0.16, twice the legal limit. Cassidy gave the name
and birth date of actress Taylor Cole, but gave an incorrect age for the birth date given. She is due in court on December 18, 2007.

What is it about that country? She can act, marry, join the Army, but cannot have a drink? Good Grief!

She’s also expected to be playing Lucy Ewing in the upcoming Dallas, due out next year. We here at the TWTE wish her better luck than the poison dwarf who used to play that role.

  1. There is a rational for the 21 year old drinking age. Young people under 21 are much more likely to be involved is serious traffic accidents after drinking than people over 21. If the streets and highways are to be safe for the rest of us, either you can deny drivers licenses to anyone under 21, or you can deny them the right to drink. Most people prefer the latter solution.
