Irn Bru Flavoured Sausages

It appears that an enterprising Scot is adding one more item to the list of must have comestibles:

…a Fife-based butcher is about to market Irn Bru infused sausages…

Just the thing before the deep fried mars bar, don’t you think?

  1. I bought some Irn Bru when I was in the UK last year. It ranks right down there with Marmite.

No, no, no, you are completely ignorant about Scottish cuisine. The deep fried Mars bar is served *before* the main meal, as a kind of amuse-bouche.
Tim adds: There are those days when I thank the very heavens for my own ignorance.

  3. Ah, Irn Bru. Love the stuff. I bet it’s great mixed with vodka.
And really there’s no reason why one shouldn’t deep fry a Mars bar. Deep frying is actually a lower fat method of cooking than shallow frying since it’s so rapid, and it improves the flavour of pretty much anything.

My undergraduate favourite: curried spaghetti on rice with chips. Beer followed.
