Following the help of several here and also Alex and Tyler over at Marginal Revolution, a tip for those running BlogAds.
Make sure you have expunged from your template the old BlogAds code (proxy.blogads stuff). As of a couple of days ago that’s been making sites run extremely slowly. Getting shot of it brings them back up to normal speed.
Of course, BlogAds did tell us to do this some months ago but then who ever listens to experts, eh?

IF YOU HAVE — or had — BlogAds and your page is loading slowly, you need to remove the old proxy.blogads.com code from your templates. More here….

your loading slow issue is back again. The RHS stops after the Creative commons license so I assume the problem is whatever follows that.

I’d say getting shot of it. I suspect its one of those things which varies from area to area. Shot, shut and shed all sound similar.
