One of the slight worries about running away going off to live in another country is that you’re never quite sure that you’ve gone to the right one. Reading about somewhere else, well, you never really do get told that despite the fabulous beaches, the glorious sunshine and the easy women, that you’ll still be the same middle aged sad-sack when you get there.

Funny that. Still, doesn’t stop me, despite living as I do in the rubble of a building site on the Algarve, from pondering whether the rubble of a building site in Brazil, or NZ, or, possibly God Forbid, amongst the Ockers and the kangaroos. So when I was asked to have a look at this site, about Free share house, rental property and real estate in God’s Own Country (copyright a balladeer no doubt) and tell you about it I thought why not?

The site does just what it says one the tin. It’s a free site that deals with real estate and rental properties in Australia. I had a look and it seems that they no longer use dunnies, which is good because they must be tough to use upside down.

If you’re thinking of escaping the UK for a land where the beer is always cold and the women, at least by reputation, aren’t, then worth a look. Even if you’re not thinking of moving, a little fantasising never hurts.
