Oh my God yes, I want some, I want some.
Marmite made from Guinness yeast.
And please sir, can you make some from Old Peculier as well?

Why the hell would anyone want a monkey made out of beer?
Oh, wait, that’s a marmoset. My bad.
What the hell is marmite?
Old Peculier wasn’t a patch on what it used to be before Theakston’s sold out to S&N. Now it’s back in family hands, I wonder if it’s returned to its former glories? Paul Theakston’s Riggwelter, from his Black Sheep brewery, was certainly a worthy successor to Old Pec.
I once drank a gallon of Old Pec at a beer festival at Imperial College and navigated my way home to Camberwell (via Brixton) without any recollection of having done so.
Robb, stop playing the goat. You know perfectly well what Marmite is. You’d probably even like it.
Actually, sans Google, I have no idea. I’m thinking some sort of jelly / jam substance.
But, made from Guinness, I’m sure I would like it.
Tim adds: It is boiled brewer’s yeast with salt added.
Seriously, that’s what it is. Luvverly stuff.
At the risk of being entirely unoriginal, Robb, you either love it or you hate it. Me – love it. Not sure about Guiness flavour though.
Robb, I was sure we had the Marmite conversation over at Sharp as a Marble.
“Your search – site:blog.robballen.com marmite – did not match any documents. ”
I have an awful memory, but Google assures me this isn’t the case. I don’t recall any conversations about marmosets, marsite, or marmite, but then again I can’t tell you what I had for breakfast this morning so that’s not quite definitive.
Marmite – you either love it or you are miserable spoil sport.
Theakston’s Old Peculiar is one of the best beers you can find in bottle anywhere. On tap its pretty amazing that is a for sure. I would far rather a pint of Old Peculiar over a pint of Guiness to be honest.
I can’t tell you what I had for breakfast this morning — in that case, Robb, try some toast and Marmite for breakfast. You might well enjoy it and you’ll almost certainly remember it.
Is it available here in the States?
I believe it is available in the US, though it is expensive. Try it for breakfast on buttered toast with a topping of scrambled egg.
From the states–it sounds too much like catamite. But anyway–BRILLIANT!
will you all stop this is making me hungryyyyyyyyyyyy…..
