Equally worrying is the number of people in the comments almost audibly salivating at the idea of being able to order other people around and force them to accept what they don’t want ‘for their own good and the national interest’. It’s quite clear we’d have no difficulty recruiting a sufficient crop of commissars (or gauleiters, take your pick). Sigh.
