Missing Something

Iain, I think you’ve missed one very interesting little fact here.

His latest entry HERE is crowing over the fact that the 10 Downing Street website (he used to work there, you know) gets more hits that Guido, me or ConservativeHome.
God, that’s a shock, isn;t it? Well, it is actually because until
Downing Street launched its petitions gimmick, my blog had a bigger
reach than the Downing Street website – as did Guido and ConservativeHome.

What we’re looking for of course is the why? Could it in fact be that half the blogs in the country are pointing to the petitions site? To ask for the repeal of the hunting act? (12,500 or more signed up) Asking the PM to stand on his head and juggle ice cream? (51 blogs linking), an EU Referendum? (17 blogs linking)

That, in fact, the success of the 10 Downing Street Website is precisely that they’ve done something absurd so that all of us snotty little peasants are sending readers there so as to make fun of the grotesques who rule us? That it is us who are driving their traffic?

  1. You could at least plug the anti-ID cards one:
    http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/IDcards/

    sanbikinoriaon,
your faith that they’ll listen to the “little people” and haven’t already made up their minds is refreshing.
I’d plan how to cause the maximum disruption to their ID plans.
