What’s your answer?
Did our forefathers really fight in two world wars so that we would have to put up with this shit?

It’s only to “pre-empt” such unfortunate and politically embarrassing eventualities as happened at last year’s Party Conference:
“The Labour Party has apologised after an 82-year-old member was thrown out of its annual conference for heckling. Walter Wolfgang, from London, was ejected from the hall after shouting ‘nonsense’ as Foreign Secretary Jack Straw defended Iraq policy. Police later used powers under the Terrorism Act to prevent Mr Wolfgang’s re-entry, but he was not arrested.”

Prescott would probably just punch them all in the face anyway. They’re better off…
On a slightly related note, there’s a beautiful story in the current Private Eye – “called to ordure” on the HP Sauce page – about Tony’s recent visit to a school. One of the funniest things I’ve ever read.
Tim,
Which particular shit?
Mass immigration?
Muslims marchers walking the streets carrying seditious placards?
Honour killings?
More evidence, as if you needed it, that the Labour Party Conference is a stitch up from start to finish.
It’s reminiscent of the last days of President Nicolae Ceauşescu, who in his latter days would not allow the public anywhere near him and consequently thought they adored him.
Blair’s downfall, and hopefully his prosecution for war crimes, may well come as a bit of a surprise.
I am keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that somebody slips through the net. Walter Wolfgang already has an assured place.
Portaloos for Peterloo.
