Abolish Inheritance Tax.
Incredible, the man’s actually said something sensible.
Abolish Inheritance Tax.
The rest of the Labour Party violently disagrees with him and ask where will the government get the £3.6 Billion from if Inheritance Tax is abolished. Now I know this is a bit radical, but how about cutting public spending? If my income drops then I cut back. It’s quite simple really. I’ve heard that increasing the inheritance threshold to £2 million would only cost £2 billion. How much has the war in Iraq cost so far? Can someone remind me?
I can’t imagine for a second that he’s actually being sincere.
Shurely, as they suggest in the piece, this is merely some kind of goblin-destabilising tactic, what with the one-eyed monarch only recently having retrospecively clobbered IHT-dodging offshore trusts?
or even retrospectively clobbered…
As for the war in Iraq:
“At a Downing Street reception not long ago, a guest had the temerity to ask Tony Blair: ‘How do you sleep at night, knowing that you’ve been responsible for the deaths of 100,000 Iraqis?’
“The Prime Minister is said to have retorted: ‘I think you’ll find it’s closer to 50,000.”

So that’s all right then?
