"What’s with Howard Stern" is an interesting question. Is having strippers come on and strip on a radio show really adding much to the gaiety of the nation?
Actually, that’s not quite fair for although I haven’t heard him on his new satellite show I have seen the TV show a few times (late night, beered up, what else to do, right?) and I do remember him from many moons ago.
Way back in the day, when dinosaurs roamed the earth and Howard Stern was just starting out he was on a station called DC 101. I was a young Englishman newly arrived in the US and astonished to find a station that played all of the Southern Fried Rock that I (then) so enjoyed. Molly Hatchett, Lynyrd Skynyrd and so on. The second shock was being exposed to Howard Stern. I’m not sure if Robin was with him then but that’s still the image I have of him (and yes, I’ve even seen the film).
Not the current show or the massive fame, but this rather shocking introduction to the New World.
