Moonbat : J’Accuse!

Interesting conclusion from the Moonbat today:

I am not suggesting that
Clarke has knowingly engaged in illegal activities or has done anything
to offend current criminal law. But it seems to me that in a fair world
– a world in which human life was valued by our legislators – he would
not now be contemplating the leadership of Her Majesty’s opposition. He
would be behind bars.

Marcus at Harry’s Place comments:

If anyone has any doubt that enjoying a cigarette is considered by
the right-on middle-class commentariat as the greatest social evil the
world is currently facing they should read the article again and savour
Monbiot’s logic.

…not done anything illegal… should be imprisoned anyway…

  1. I think the weasel words here are “in a fair world”.
    Fair by whose standards?

  2. A particularly good article to read alongside the Guardian’s ‘legalise heroin’ piece.

Marcus is talking cobblers here. The clear point is “BAT’s marketing practices in the Third World ought to be against the law so that someone doing it in the way that Ken’s company does would be thrown in jail”. The clear point being that if there was such a world, Kenneth Clarke, who is a law-abiding citizen, would not have become a director of BAT and thus would not have broken the law and gone to jail.

“Obnoxious, self-righteous, whining little fucks. My biggest fear is that if I quit smoking, I’ll become on of you. I have something to tell you non-smokers that I know for a fact that you don’t know, and I feel it’s my duty to pass on information at all times. Ready? Non-smokers die every day…Enjoy your evening. See, I know that you entertain this eternal life fantasy because you’ve chosen not to smoke, but let me be the 1st to POP that bubble and bring you hurtling back to reality….You’re dead too.”: Bill Hicks.
I don’t think there’s anything I need to add to that thanks.
