An adolescent monkey has returned home to his zoo after a row with his father.
……
The four-year-old male, who would be aged about 17 in
human terms, was placed in solitary confinement in a spare cell in the
lion house. He was locked up for his own safety instead of being left
to face his father.
"The break-down in the
relationship between the father and son is terminal," said Mark
Challis, the zoo manager, yesterday. "We are looking for a high quality
zoo to have him transferred to."
It is thought that the monkey challenged his father, the dominant male in the 18-strong group, and was sent packing.
(Apologies. Couldn’t think of a better pun. Your contributions for a title in the comments.)
