Looking for a clock to complete the office

As regular readers will know we've been working on this house here for some time and we're getting close to the end of the adventure. But now, of course, to enjoy living in it we need to furnish it properly: there's no point in having spent all this time and money on getting the building right if we don't get the inside right as well. Which is why my mind has been turning to howard miller clocks. More specifically, to grandfather clocks.

For I now have my new office (with attatched private bathroom, very posh indeed) in which I can do my work and writing and it has to be said that a fine clock does set off a study (or as I prefer to call it, an escritoire) rather well. And I've been looking around that site thinking about which model I'd prefer: I think it's the Adams grandfather clock that does it for me. I like the almost Victorian heaviness of the design.

What also has me sharpening my checkbook (or of course, in these days, the credit card) is that over here on this blog they're pointing out that there are great discount grandfather clocks right at the moment. Which has to be a great idea, right? Buying something you were already going to buy but having to pay less than you were willing to to get it?
