This is something of a turn up for the books, the case of Judge Herman Thomas.
The accusation is that he would offer male prisoners a reduction in sentence in return for their having sex with him. There certainly seems to be some evidence of something odd having gone on.
His defence is that he's seen as an "uppity black" that the establishment wants to get rid of. That defence might be more effective if we hadn't seen it being more than a little over used in recent years. Even though the US is not perfectly clear from racism it's still true that there really are people who might take advantage of their powerful situation in order to get sex.
The case was reopened when it became apparent that Herman Thomas had
changed sentences for a number of cases in which he was not strictly
involved. The allegation is that these sentence changes came after he
