Miss California Fired

Well, this didn't take long, looks like Miss California has been fired.

But the firing of Miss California, was it because she said that she was against gay marriage? Not, it doesn't seem to be about that. Or maybe Miss California was fired because she'd had topless photos taken of herself?

No, not that either. OK, the reason Miss California was fired was because she failed to keep her contractual obligations:

Miss California, Carrie Prejean, has been fired and stripped of her crown. Donald Trump, has been stated as firing Miss California not because of her controversial views on gay marriage, but for not following the protocol, that was required of Miss California.
Keith Lewis, the California pageant's executive director, stated that, ""This was a decision based solely on contract violations…After our press conference in New York we had hoped we would be able to forge a better working relationship. However, since that time it has become abundantly clear that Carrie has no desire to fulfill her obligations under our contract and work together.”
While Donald Trump backed Keith Lewis on his statement, it was his sole decision to tell Miss California that…"Your fired!"

Seems fair enough to me. And that does seem to be the reason that Miss California was fired.

Miss California Carrie Prejean was fired by pageant officials due to contract violations, the Los Angeles Times reports.

“This was a decision based solely on contract violations
including Ms. Prejean’s unwillingness to make appearances on behalf of
the Miss California USA organization,” said the co-executive director
of the Miss California USA pageant, Keith Lewis.

Everyone seems to have got the news over the reason for Miss California's firing.

Miss California Carrie Prejean was stripped of her title with pageant's
co-owner Donald Trump's consent and now stands as proof that even
beauty queens can get fired with the business tycoon's blessing.

What set it all in over-drive for Trump was not Prejean's morals or
politics, but her failure to fulfill her beauty queen duties.

As I say, seems fair enough to me. Opposing same sex marriage is simply freedom of speech, posiong topless is just freedom of expression but a contract is a contract.

  1. Trump must have figured that he had gotten all the publicity he could get from Prejean so it was time to move on
