Carla Bruni sues over naked bag lady
Carla Bruni-Sarkozy is suing a clothing company over a bag which has her naked image on it.
The bag is produced by Pardon, who are based on the French island of Reunion in the Indian Ocean. The bag has the naked image of Bruni-Sarkozy from a photo shoot in 1993. Carla is now the first lady of France and not doing that sort of thing anymore.
"This bag is an attack on Madame Bruni-Sarkozy's image without her consent and (is produced) purely for commercial reasons." her attorney said. Pardon defended their use of the photo saying Bruni-Sarkozy was a "woman in the public eye."
Carla wants a ban on the sale of the bags and $163,000 in damages given to charity.
