Yes, it's daylight savings time 2008….or, actually, in the United States, no it isn't daylight savings time 2008 yet.
Europe has indeed changed the clocks today. As have many other countries around the world. The full list of daylight savings time changes for 2008 can be seen here.
However, there was one US politician who decided that doing things on the same day as the rest of the world simply wasn't good enough. So after decades of getting closer to everyone switching on or off daylight savings time on the same day this year, 2008, we go back to the US changing on a different day. Next weekend in fact, rather than this weekend.
Can you imagine how much it costs airlines to deal with this? Changing the clocks at different ends of their route on different days?
Anyway, after that stupidity here's some (perhaps not all that reliable) advice about how to remember which way the clocks go.
Fall forward, spring back.
