Anne Hathaway’s ex-boyfriend Raffaello Follieri is off to jail after pleading guilty to wire fraud, money laundering and conspiracy.  He will know the length of his confinement when sentenced at the beginning of October.

Anne who was not part of the investigation had split from Follieri when the FBI turned up on his doorstep .  Follieri was a sophisticated con man who used the money he had misappropriated from people to fund his lavish lifestyle which included private jet travel.

He pretended to be a representative of the Vatican and using that ruse gained funds by telling investors they were purchasing Catholic properties below market value.

As part of his plea Follieri will required to repay the $2.4 million he stole plus restitution.

That is an awful lot of mailbags to sow!
