Today is the world’s first Autism Awareness Day. A lot of whnat is being said in the following stories rings true: that incidence seems to be between 1 in 100 and 1 in 150 children for all autism spectrum conditions, that it’s a lifelong condition, with both its problems and its rewards.
Fortunately, they’ve also left out any of that nonsense about it being caused either by the MMR vaccine or the mercury preservatives in vaccines.
Unfotunately, I haven’t seen any references to the work of Simon Baron Cohen and his explanations for why it does happen.
