Boyzone Reunion

Yes, there’s a Boyzone reunion in the air:

After all the rumours doing the rounds, I can finally confirm BOYZONE
are
getting back together.

The Boyz – or should that be Men – are reuniting to play at
BBC’s Children In Need this month, where they will perform a
medley of old hits.

And lead singer RONAN KEATING chose his favourite showbiz column to
break the happy news in a phone call to me yesterday.

Ronan said: “After all the speculation, we are getting back together
and we are very excited.

“We have been talking about it for a while now and decided to go out
there on our own and have a go at it.

“At this stage all we have planned is to perform at Children In
Need, and we are thinking about doing a tour.

“We haven’t got any plans to release a new album but we
will see what happens.

“And we haven’t signed a record deal with anyone. We are
just doing this thing on our own.

We can, of course, translate that a bit. There’s a market for them to tour some small venues with fools coughing up to see hem. There’s not a market for anyone to actually spend any money on getting them into a studio or cutting a record or two. Thankfully.

Ronan and the rest of the band  – SHANE LYNCH, MIKEY GRAHAM,
STEPHEN GATELY and KEITH DUFFY were inspired by the great
reaction
TAKE THAT got when they got back together – and by
the forthcoming Spice Girls reunion.

Err, by the torrents of cash, I think you’ll find.
