Tucker Chapman

It was Tucker Chapman who dropped his father, the bounty hunter Dog Chapman, in the mess by selling the tapes to the National Enquirer then. How amusing!

Television bounty hunter Duane "Dog" Chapman’s son taped a private
phone conversation in which the reality star used a racial slur
repeatedly, then sold it to a tabloid for "a lot of money," Chapman’s
lawyer said Thursday.

"I guess because of whatever level of anger
he had of his father, he felt the need to express it in that manner,"
attorney Brook Hart told The Associated Press.

Tucker Chapman could not be reached for comment; no one answered the telephone at a Honolulu number listed under his name.

The
National Enquirer on Wednesday posted on its Web site a clip of a
conversation in which Duane Chapman, star of the hit A&E series
"Dog the Bounty Hunter," repeatedly used the N-word in reference to
Tucker’s girlfriend.

Chapman later apologized to his son and the woman, then learned about how the tape got into the tabloid’s hands, Hart said.

I guess that’s going to make Thanksgiving in that family interesting, eh? Does Tucker Chapman pay for the turkey now, given that he got a good chunk of money for the tapes: and of course, now that hi father is temporarily not working on the TV show?

One other point, depending upon which State you’re in, it’s illegal to record a phone conversation without telling the other person that you are. So, does Dog now sue his son, Tucker Chapman?

    Hawaii Statute: Recording phone calls: Rev. Stat. § 803-42: Any wire, oral or electronic communication (including cellular phone calls) can lawfully be recorded by a person who is a party to the communication, or when one of the parties has consented to the recording, so long as no criminal or tortious purpose exists. Unlawful interceptions or disclosures of private communications are punishable as felonies.
    The one-party consent rule does not apply, however, to the installation of a recording device in a “private place” that will amplify or broadcast conversations outside that private place. All parties who have a reasonable expectation of privacy in that place must consent to the installation of a recording device. Haw. Rev. Stat. § 803-42(b)(3).
    Civil penalties for unlawful interception or disclosure include the greater of actual damages or any profits made by the violator, $100 for each day of violation, or $10,000, along with punitive damages, attorney fees and litigation costs. Haw. Rev. Stat. § 803-48. A hotel room has been found by the Hawaii Supreme Court to be a private place where a recording device cannot legally be installed without the consent of the room’s occupants. Hawaii v. Lo, 675 P.2d 754 (Haw. 1983).
    It is a felony to install or use a surveillance device in a private place to view a person in a “stage of undress or sexual activity” without the person’s consent. Haw. Rev. Stat. § 711-1110.9. It is a misdemeanor to possess materials obtained in this manner. If the person is not in such a stage, it is a misdemeanor. Haw. Rev. Stat. § 711-1111.

    Seems as thou the “blacks” are the only ones that

    OK folks here is the deal.
    Firstly as a Christian Dogs life is something like right out of the bible. The Book of Job… on a festive day all his kids died. On the same day all his wealth was stolen, and his wife urged him to curse God. Dog is 3 for 3 and 2 of 3 on the same day. Genesis… Joseph sold by his 10 brothers into slavery, falsely accused of misconduct, jailed, but overcame to become second in command of the nation. Dog started off a hoodlum and has worked his way up jailed, gained fame and sent down again… shall he rise? Jesus betrayed by one of 12 disciples…. for money Dog betrayed by one of 12 children… for money. Jesus was God and Dog is trying to be like Jesus. Folks I don’t expect anybody to be perfect… as a matter of fact on the Day of Judgment all the secret conversations and thoughts will be exposed to show how bankrupt and dirty our high minded morality is. Please note that Jesus will dry the tears of everyone after the judgment is rendered… this whole human existence is tragic. As for Dog… I digress back to Job.. Job was attacked because Satan did not believe what God said about Job… He believed Job was being protected and that when that protection was stripped away that he would crumble into another being like Satan himself… A profaner against God. You can tell with the postings on the internet on who rides with the devil and beckons his multitude of arguments against trying to be a student to the success of God.

    Ill never watch any show on A&E again….. Not because of Mr. Chapmans honest remarks, But because A & E kicked Dog under the bus for speaking the honest REAL LIFE truth’s!….. All Mr. Chapman said was he did want this son’s girlfriend blowing a cork when he used the N-Word in HIS WORK in HIS HOUSE in HIS WORLD and HIS JOB….. In this type work, the word nigger is used just like the words Muther Fucker and Piece Of Shit…. These are words to intimidate a suspect into submission while speaking the suspect lingo… Words the bad guy’s understand when they hear it…… The Mr. Do-Rights of this world only hear what they want to hear and twisted the Dogs words into meaning something else….. Thanks for giving me a place to speak my mind and point of view… As a REAL member of the human race, I see things as they really are… not what I want to twist it into meaning… just to start a bunch of crap…..     freedom of speech….freedom period were is it?we live our lives for our children we go broke for them we stand up for them we give them everything to make it in this world,dog,stands for all of this and its his freedom that gives him the right to tell his son how he feels in his own way privately.what they both did can never be redone lesson learned…but life still goes on..dogs work should be allowed to go on too.if it wasnt for him the ice heads would take over..the streets just that much worse

    I do not believe that Duane “DOG” Chapman’s show should have been cancelled. Before everybody starts screaming racist – know this – among African Americans/Blacks the N word is thrown around quite frequently – if we don’t want the word used we should not own the title/word. If we use the word amongst ourselves – then the word is up for grabs – anybody and everybody can use it. Maybe I am not as sensitive as I should be…..by the time I came into this world I could sit anywhere I wanted to on any bus, live anywhere I could afford, etc. I do agree that we should not use this word – it hurts some people deeply – so do other words. I have never heard white people or Latinos call each other racially derogatory names when greeting each other! DON’T OWN THE NAME/TITLE and people of other races will not feel comfortable using it – it starts with the African American/Black communities. We are human and we all have certain thoughts about those different from us – we all have some racism embedded in us – maybe not the hanging kind,but racist just the same. It was a call between a father and son – not a dvd recording of the DOG in Klan attire! REMEMBER: If everybody in America lost their jobs for saying something racist or hateful about Middle Eastern people after the Sept.11, 2001 attacks at least half of the American work force would be without jobs!     I agree with all of these. They knew who and what he was when they hired him and so did the sponsors. I’ve been writing every place I know but these on here said it all for me. A&E and that faithless son did more damage than they possibly know. I’m behind Dog 100% and that son should be arrested. He is scum. Dog, if you listen, was trying to protect all the others, family and people working for and with him. Now this faithless son has spit in all their faces. Dog did not want her to hear what we hear every day of our lives. What he said was extremely good and kind if you pick through the language and the son refused to hear the message. He wanted so bad to hurt his father he SOLD HIM for silver. He is trash of the 9th order which is the level of hell he will end up in. You go on , JimmyJoint. I agree with

    The thing is, if you hear the entire tape, it becomes clear that this woman was TRYING to cause these sorts of problems. She’d been in the parking lot trying to tape their conversations prior to this tape being made. He knew that she was trying to cause problems like this, claiming that he was a racist, and that’s the entire point of the conversation that he had with his son. He obviously didn’t understand that his son is just as shady and underhanded as the girlfriend. Both of them are just looking to make a buck off of someone famous.
    Daddy told him to drop the trashy girlfriend, or he couldn’t work there anymore. Rather than get a real job, he decided to cash in on dad’s fame.

    What happened to freedom of speach? Plus, think about the “Dogism” that Dog has said repeatedly in the show. “Where mercy is shown, mercy is given.” Dog isn’t getting that much mercy, although he has shown it plenty of times. I think it was the wrong thing to say, but once I heard the whole story, I’m not surprized he said what he said. I’m not racist, and I know he’s not. It wasn’t right what Tucker and his girfriend did to Dog, after Dog had given him a job at the office, and forgiven him repeatedly for getting in brawls with his wife, Beth. Then, Tucker’s girlfriend wants to start something. Tucker got in fights with Beth, Tucker’s girlfriend wants to stop that, so she gangs up her friends and wants to start a fight. That isn’t right. Beth isn’t someone I’d want to fight with, plus, that was a little too far. They just wanted to make money, plus they knew this would put Dog’s job in jeparady.

    What about the other 3,000,000,000 people that use this word on tv? How about BReal from Cypress Hill, hes latino and uses the word like its going out of style. I’m a white kid from Canada and don’t pretend to understand what blacks, as a race, have been through nor do I pretend to know how it feels to be black and hear that word. The problem is that half of the black community can’t decide if its a bad word or just another greeting. Either way, however its precieved I will never use the word, I feel that its ugly to say. My question is; is it not also disrespectful if black youths to use this word, when they seem to not fully understand the pure hate that it once meant? You don’t hear jews sayin ”what up Hitler?” do you? I understand the whole ”we overcame the hardships and now this word is a symbol of our perseverance” but I don’t believe that black youths understand, even if they only use it in passing that IT IS THE SAME WORD that slave masters used, with the same connotations. Its definatly not helping the black community or the world community for that matter, if every 5 minutes some random person is exuming what is a dark chapter in world history and should be laid to rest once and for all. As for Dog, he was wrong, easy as that, he said sorry and I believe that if half of the black population knew a little more about there own history things would change. As tough as it is to hear, this word is never going to stop being used until Black people stop using it, its sad but I realize that there are some pople out there that believe because they use it, its ok. Wasn’t that Dog’s excuse? I believe Dog should have to take a black history course so he can see what hes disrespecting everytime he uses it. He always preaching about something well why not something that people actually need to hear, its apparent that ”some” people do listen to his words and I’d be willing to bet that the target audience for his show is probably the demographic with the most problems reguarding racism and the use of this word. Everyone messes up, its how you rebound from it that people will remember. Negitive into a positive. Everyone reading this can make a consious effort to never use that word, black or white,and thats where it starts. Stop racism now!

    I am not surprised by Dog’s views expressed in the tape released to the National Enquirer. This is because I’ve seen other examples of that family’s ‘handiwork’ — some of the disgusting things he and his wife say to their newly-captured. Maybe this is the success of the show: how does all that ambiguity exist in the same people? The pattern to which I refer is how they let out a tirade of derogatory remarks (seen in Beth’s “La-lee la-lee icehead” sing-song in one episode), which moves on to crying and praying with their captured before releasing them to jail. Does the existence of one ‘face’ make the others less real? No! This is who he and Beth are. When the process starts again (to apprehend the next guy), the derisive epithets fly from their mouths again, all the way to prayers later on.
    These people should not be in a position to spread their bigoted ways like a rash across the world. The money the show pulls in should NOT — for once in America — be what decides this matter. Dog should be fired!

    How interesting that Tucker has only been out of prison for a little over a year where he only served 4 years of a 20 year sentence for ARMED ROBBERY. I guess he needed some money or he might have to work for a living. And, of course, his girlfriend already has attorney to see just how far they can milk the money out of the Dog. Yes, it is all about money.
    Forget the fact that Dog has shown remorse.
    I believe God has forgiven Dog. It is too bad that money drives Tucker and his girlfriend rather than forgiveness. And, just in case we all forget about Dog’s rise from prison to trying to save peoples lives this is a reminder. Do you think that someone with Dog’s real world background hasn’t included words a lot worse than the N word. It is simply a part of his daily language without being intended solely for black people.

    Once again everybody starts blaming black people for “Dog” Chapman’s dumb ass comments. They blame the son’s girlfriend but the fact is that she knew his rasist comments was a common thing around the family. Nobody wants to be belittled and put under that kind of stress on a daily basis. Look, you hear some blacks call other blacks nigger and you want to blame the entire black race for people like Dog,Imus,& others.You should have a problem when you hear blacks calling whites “cracker” or “white trash” ,but how often do you hear that? Not often. If “Dog” was selling a CD then I would have the choice to simply not buy it,but when you have a platform that’s all over TV like Dog & Imus and you “F-up” then you take the blame all by yourself and face the consequences.

Justice will be served in the end. So don’t give up and stay strong.I think there may be better things for you ahead.     Tucker, you suck. So do you, A&E. The Chapmans (with the exception of Tucker) are a wonderful family and Dog, though he used explict language, was only trying to protect his family from what he thought (AND HE WAS RIGHT!) was a set-up to make him look like a racist!     All I have to say is I have a lot to be thankful for. I don’t have kids stabbing me in the back.I forgive you Dog not that you need forgiving I know know you are human and we all make mistakes.I am sorry your son sold you out for money. But you have not said anything I have not heard before. I don’t think anyone should be saying the N word, or any negative comments. But I know you are not a racist. I support you 100%. And you and your family are in my prayers. And you should not lose your show, and A&e will be blocked from my television until you are back on the air. Stay strong and you will rise above this.

    First off I just want to say I have been reading some pretty means things being said about about the Chapman’s and I must say you make him look like a saint compared to your evil comments. You know I was told by someone what is in your heart comes out though your speech.I would say it speaks volumes as to who you are.But I want you to know that I think it is wrong for anyone to say the N word or any racial slur for that matter. Duane said he is sorry and I forgive him.
    But it was to be a private conversation with his son. How was he to know that his was setting him up? And I do not think he is a racist and should not lose the show.

    My grandmother used to say, “you don’t know what you are raising now.” In this case I agree, but did Dog raise Tucker? Sometimes when you leave a boy alone and his mother has to struggle they never forget. Everyone is ranting and raving about betrayal, but did he betray his son first? You reap what you sow. You can’t turn your back on someone for 20 years and expect to be Dad after you have finally made it.
    Moving on to the slur. It was a private conversation, but this shows what he instills in his children. Lyssa will never bring home a black boy because she has constantly heard her father speak against it. Again you reap what you sow.
    Is Dog more upset that he was caught or that his black friends now know that he uses that word behind closed doors with his family. Last I checked nobody called me a nigger because the meant that I did not have a soul. They wanted to feel superior and hurt me. That was the reason he used that word while speaking of the Enquirer.
    Can I forgive him? Yes, it’s a new year. But that is not the reason why I can forgive. I lived in Hawaii for 4 years and that is the only place where White people feel as hurt about a racial slur as Black people do. Haole, is the word used that is equal to Nigger. When someone says it in a way to degrade and demean you it hurts. I know that he has been on the receiving end and it felt no different for him than it did to Monique. After he found out what it meant anyway.
    Give him his show back? Why he is still in business. He didn’t lose his company, he is still going to hunt criminals. Just not on the t.v. I think that he can redeem himself, but I think that he has a long way to go. The only reason that he is apologizing is money. I hope that he can find his way.
    I’ll leave you with this, if he knew that the word was inappropriate to use around the young lady and he wanted his son to break up with her, why not erase the word from his vocabulary? Also, if there was so much fatherly love why was he so quick to cut his son off?
