Just down the road in Silves (15 km or so away). Local farmer plants 1 hectare of GM corn (something entirely legal) and these crusties come and rip it up.
So, anyone know how I apply for a Portuguese shotgun licence?

Might be fun for the farmer to dump a load of “organic fertiliser” through the door of the nearest eco-luddite group.
AntiCitizenOne, direct action is only okay if you’re with the programme, try it against eco-tossers and they’d be running to the nearest cop shop wanting you arrested for violating their rights. Why is it the police don’t charge these morons with criminal damage?
Were the vandals genuine Porras or imported Brit immigrants I wonder.
I only ask because from where I stand this sort of imbecility seems to be a predominantly rich, anglosperical phenomenon.
ps re the shot gun licence.
For large gatherings a homemade claymore mine might be more effective.
To paraphrase Mr du Toit: old-style dutbin lid, bucket of home made explosive, bucket of nuts and bolts. Some assembly required.
Some disassembly guaranteed.
I hate these prats and I’m an ecologist. I feel like giving them a sock in the mouth for tarnishing the subject I love.
A few years ago it was very easy. You simply buy it (Hunting shotgun).
Nowadays you need to have a hunting license (Get it at the Town Hall) and then you buy a shotgun. But you can also do the reverse way. Buy the shotgun and then go to the town hall to get the hunting license.
Timmy, that broken bicycle of yours is never going to be suitable for a drive-by shooting of assorted swampies. I think a better idea would be to buy a patch of land, sow it with a GM crop, and then plant a goodly selection of anti-personnel mines. Then you just wait for the unwashed horde….
Love it Monty. An alternative would be to train some GM crops up razor wire. How much do they personally value pulling up those plants?
I think a whiff of grapeshot might be more effective…
“Local farmer plants 1 hectare of GM corn (something entirely legal) and these crusties come and rip it up.”
The local farmer had planted 50 hectares of GM corn, not one
Tim adds: Thanks for the correction.
