British prisons are better than American ones!

It is a verdict likely to cause great consternation to lonely prisoners
throughout the US penal system. A prisoner in Florida has been found
guilty of indecent exposure for masturbating alone in his cell.

The 20 year old is serving 10 years: the idea that he might not masturbate is of course absurd. But apart from the fact that the (female) guard seems to get her jollies from prosecuting those who do indulge in a hand shandy now and again (7 recent cases: perhaps this is one of the downsides of the sexual equality laws?) there is, as above, good news. For the case revolved around the following:

Mr Sherman said jurors determined that a prison cell, which was owned
and operated by the government, was neither public nor private but was
a "limited access public place’.’

And, as we know from the recent rulings over smoking, a British cell is private space, for prisoners are allowed to smoke in them. Isn’t that wonderful? The British criminal classes (at least, that small percentage that get caught) have the right to be wankers?
