How many bloody times does this have to be pointed out?
A "part-time pay gap" will take 25 years to close and the "full-time
pay gap" 20 years, in a system that now pays women 38% less per hour
than men for working part time and 17% for full-timers;
The part time number there is at best extremely misleading and more accurately, a lie.
It is accurate to say that women who work part time receive 38% per hour less than men who work full time. But that is not a useful nor valid comparison. If we want talk about full time pay, fine. If we want to talk about part time pay then we must compare part time male pay with part time female pay. As here. Where the gender pay gap is roughly the same (on average between public and private sectors) as it is for full time pay.
