Courtney Coventry

Courtney Coventry…the "actress" who has just been questioned by police over the cash for honours investigation.

A former girlfriend of Hugh Hefner, the Playboy boss, who was once
given a guided tour of Downing Street, has been questioned by Scotland
Yard officers conducting the cash for honours investigation.

Courtney Coventry, 25, an actress, was flown to
Britain from France at public expense on Tony Blair’s last day as Prime
Minister to give a statement to police about her dealings with the
Labour Party leadership.

The questions centred on
a fund-raising gala in London in April 2004 that Mrs Coventry and her
husband John had paid £1,000 to attend.

It’s not all that easy to find out quite how much acting Ms. Coventry has done. There’s nothing in IMDB under that name. Nor under the "title" that she and her husband use, the Count and Countess of Rozel (and nor do there seem to be any entries showing the provenance of that title either).

The Sun tells us that she is a certain type of actress:

The pair called themselves the Count and Countess of Rozel to fool party fundraisers into believing they were serious donors.A STUNNING American porn star was flown by cops to Britain yesterday to be quizzed in the cash for honours probe.

Californian actress Courtney Coventry, 25, was grilled over her links to Labour’s chief fundraiser Lord Levy.

The blonde was asked about VIP treatment he offered her when she expressed interest in making a donation to the party.

Lord Levy introduced Courtney to Tony Blair and Labour’s high command at a swanky fundraising bash.

She and British-born husband John Coventry, 46, were invited to the
glittering ball at the Hilton Hotel in London’s Park Lane in April 2004
after they pretended to be willing to make a big cash donation.

About all I could find was that she and her husband at one time ran Murder Mystery Weekends:

$250 off Rozel Murder Mystery weekends with the Count and Countess of
Rozel. (Available in Italy, USA, France, and England.)

Dunno, nor, I suspect, do many others. A publicity stunt for whatever their next business venture is going to be perhaps?

She also met Jack Straw. Courtney said: “He spent most of the time speaking to my chest.”

Jack does seem to have a thing for the American ladies, doesn’t he?

Aha! found her IMDB entry. She played the "Office Babe" (and another character in the movie was "Karate Nurse" which I think tells us something about where on the artistic scale this belongs). If she’s 25 now, then back in 1999 when the movie was made she was 17. And, err, 15 when she appeared in a TV series "Hot Springs Hotel". They do of course use teenagers in TV shows but perhaps it’s the 25 years old now that’s inaccurate?

  1. More and even better pics in yesterday’s Mail:
“An American porn star has been flown to Britain by detectives investigating the cash-for-honours investigation, it was revealed today.”

  2. Actually she is not a former girlfriend of Hugh Hefner. Have a look at her website she comments on that and gives a bit of info on the whole cash for honours statement issue. It also appears the police had her statement months ago and thought it was very relevant and continued to think it was until the press wrote about her coming over so what has changed? Probably Blairs government reaching back from the grave exerting pressure. Blairs Labour sleaze continues!
The telegraph has a statement from the police saying they thought her info was very relevant.

  3. She corrects several inaccuracies being reported here:

If the police thought she was a valuable and compelling enough witness to fly over to take a statement from why would they suddenly not interview her as im sure they must have known what she would say prior to bringing her over.
The real question is who would want to destroy her credibility and who would have enough power to stop the interview? The police are quoted saying “we had no intention of embarrassing Blair on his last day” They attempted to fly her in without anyone finding out and when that didnt work and the press found out I would bet that they would very firmly pressured by Blair’s lot not to do the interview.
On the courtney coventry website she says that she will make her info public and I for one can not wait to see what she has as I dont believe the police flew in a “useless” witness

  5. Holy crap! I’d fly her to my house for an “interview” if I could – who wouldn’t?
