Dave Still Doesn’t Get the EU

The Boy Dave (C):

Imagine for a moment if all the effort that has been devoted, over many
months, to the EU’s institutional machinery at this week’s summit had
been devoted instead to making progress on climate change,

Well, yes, let’s imagine it. What was the last thing they did on climate change? Mandate that 10% of fuels used must be biofuels. That is, insist that vastly more expensive, horribly more polluting, multiply CO2 emitting, fuels must be used, by law.

You know, I’d prefer them to continue navel gazing until we can get those tumbrils in position.

Multiply CO2 emitting yes, but also CO2 absorbing in the production process hence (broadly) ‘carbon neutral.’
I’m with you on the other stuff.
Tim adds: Well, there’s those who disagree there, that biofuels emit in their production process more CO2 than petrol.
