I had thought we were going to miss out on this stupidity over the HPV vaccine, avoiding the contretemps they had over in the US. Apparently not:

Colin Hart, the director of the Christian Institute charity, said:
"It’s basically a sex jab, encouraging the view that girls can be
sexually available. It is a disease that you can only get through being
sexually promiscuous. The thing we should be doing is trying to stop
kids being sexually active."

Well done Mr. Hart. The vaccine will make no damn difference to the age at which women become sexually active, it will simply stop some of them dying painful deaths in their 40s and 50s.

Still, at least we have an easy solution. Someone should point out to him that HPV is also a cause of throat cancer. Once he’s stopped boggling long enough to ask why, we can point out that those 12 year olds will indeed grow up and are highly likely to have oral sex, something which most members of most previous generations of the human race have also done. We can leave him as his brain explodes over the idea that not everyone conducts their sex lives along the missionary position only in a single lifelong monogamous relationship axis as he supposes.

Can we then get on with vaccinating the boys as well?
