Um, hands up all those who think Aladin, Ali Baba and Sinbad were examples of the gritty realism of everyday Arab life? -
I wonder what kind of state TV Chavez has in mind to replace the banned channel? Perhaps he’ll copy our own state TV. Stuff like East enders, Flog It, celebrity ballroom dancing and lottery shows should be just the job for rendering the populace incapable of revolting against his regime.
