US Visas

For once Tim Garton Ash has something I fully agree with. The whole process of applying for a US visa means that I’m simply not willing to try to go there. Much as I like the place, I’m just not willing to go through the hassle.

  1. You don’t have to go through all that just to visit as a tourist, though.
And even illegal immigrants generally don’t get deported, they get given driver’s licenses instead.
Tim adds: I’ve had a previous brush with the INS. I can’t use the visa waiver scheme, at least I don’t think I can.

  2. Even with whatever scheme, the notion that they take your fingerprints on entry is ridiculous. sanbikinoraioness and myself were going to enjoy a month in San Francisco and the West Coast but we’ve decided that we’ll take our holiday dollars elsewhere this year.
    Probably to Canada.
