Blogs and the Media

As the Englishman points out, there’s some similarity between this post of mine from Saturday:

Err, anyone else note the interesting use of perspective, of the distance from the animal to the human being used to compare the size?

Our young Jamison Stone is not shown leaning on the pig at all, he’s crouching, several feet behind it.

It’s them rednecks from Alabama having a laugh at us urbanites who will swallow this tale.

And this from today’s Telegraph:

Is this one of biggest wild hogs to have roamed the earth? Or a hoax by
Alabama rednecks, cleverly using perspective, knowledge of hunting and
the power of the internet to have a joke at the expense of urban
dwellers everywhere?

Great minds think alike or the consistency of small ones?

  1. Well, there was also this in Boing Boing on Friday, but he doesn’t make your joke about rednecks from Alabama.

Why does the calculator assume that an 11-year old boy will have a 28″ waist? Or is that part of the “obesity” epidemic?
