Insane Journalist Watch

I realize that it is extremely tough to reconcile these following facts, so much so that the writer makes no attempt to do so:

Even though more men
than women report being overweight or obese, women – regardless of
their weight – are more likely to be on a diet, according to a survey
of more than 4,200 Santa Clara County adults released Wednesday.

The telephone survey found that 62 percent of men reported being
overweight or obese, compared with 45 percent of women. Yet 45 percent
of women were dieting to lose weight at the time of the survey,
compared with 35 percent of men.

Puzzling eh? How about the idea that dieting makes you lose weight, so that the sex which does more of it reports less incidence of obesity?

And this is the media that everyone is concerned is disappearing from the US landscape?
