RyanAir Offer

Oh, this is good:

There have been 1p flight sales before, but until now Ryanair has never
paid for people to fly. Yesterday it began a giveaway of 1m flights
where the airline pays the taxes, fees and charges, sparking an
unprecedented rush of "binge flyers" clambering to book tickets for
close to nothing.

It gets people annoyed you see. The right people:

Ryanair’s move was branded "grossly irresponsible" by Friends of the
Earth. Its aviation campaigner, Richard Dyer, said: "Passengers may be
getting a free ride, but the planet certainly isn’t. It is unbelievable
that Ryanair is resorting to such tactics."

It doesn’t actually make much difference to the planet. The planes will be flying anyway, the extra fuel used is the marginal amount required to carry the extra passenger. No, I don’t know how much that is but it’s a damn sight less than the gross amount.

I did try checking it out but there’s nowhere they fly from Faro that I actually want to go to. Pity.

Anything that upsets FoE is a good thing, they are a know-nothing, human hating, unscientific, miserabalist bunch of gits.

Damn. Almost got 3 flights to Dublin for the marathon in October for a penny each, but the return leg falls two days beyond their travel window. Damn the Irish, and all those who support them. Cheers for the tip anyway 🙂
