Interesting start to the morning. Digging lost kitten out of the garden wall.
Every time I get close it retreats further.
Update. One garden wall now with a large hole in it, one kitten now being cleaned by Mother.
Slightly odd, Mother was the one that put it in the wall in the first place. We’ve all just moved back from the barn into the house (the builders having nearly finished) and we assume that it was part of the way in which nursing mothers can become unsettled and attempt to move kittens again.
Even more odd, it was the Tom from the earlier litter (yes, we know, too many cats, these are semi-ferals we inherited along with the house. The spaying comes as soon as she’s finished nursing.) who appears to have gone into the wall last night and kept the kitten warm. All very odd to a city boy like me.
