So, the Equal Rights Amendment has been revived, indeed renamed, as the Women’s Equality Amendment.
The majority of college students are female, there are no professions where women are refused entry, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the front runner in the Democratic Presidential race and the Secretary of State are all female.
Sure looks like a law that’s truly needed, eh?
Maybe they are just renaming the law to properly describe its purpose.
It will require Teddy Kennedy to return to Chappaquiddick and drown a man.
It’s not equality of opportunity they’re talking about here. It’s equality of achievement. So, the law will insist on equal numbers of women on the boards of companies, equal numbers of women in professions where they aren’t 50% already.
But where they are a majority (law, accounting etc.) then they can keep the majority, because they’ve worked jolly hard for it, overcoming all that prejudice without help . . .
“Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex”
What’s there to object to about that?
Like in the Life of Brian where Eric Idle demands the right for men to have babies.
Sluts and Whores deserve the same rights as Virgins!
