The Olympics Bill

Right, we’ve still got five years to go and the games are now 3x the original budget:

Preparations for the 2012 London Olympics descended into bitter
recriminations last night after the Government admitted that the budget
had more than trebled to £9.3 billion.

Given the past performance of large scale government projects we’ve got probably another 2x to go on this raised figure for the hosting of the 2014 Olympics. Anyone want to predict higher?

One further question. Anyone seen any coverage of anyone apologising for either the cock up or for the lies as yet?

One response

  1. Your esimates sound about right.
It is unlikely anyone will apologise- they’ll just come out with some guff around thinking of the children, helping the economy, improving our health, regenerating east london etc.
We all know the prime reason is massaging the egos of politicians and you can’t put a price on that…
