Terrible News, Isn’t It?

My word, what will people say? Another set of these disgusting City bonuses that contribute to the ever spiralling inequality rates has just been announced:

More than 50,000 bank and mortgage sales staff
across the UK are to share a £210m windfall through a staff bonus
scheme awarded by HBOS, the UK’s fifth biggest bank.

Two
separate share-option schemes offered by the bank to its employees are
due to vest within the next few weeks. Due to the strong performance of
the bank’s shares over the term of the three-year scheme, staff have
made huge gains. A free share scheme eligible to staff across all
levels of the business has created profits of £2,440 for the average
employee.

Anyone want to ask Ian Gibson MP what he thinks?

“I don’t think people should have bonuses at all. They are
unacceptable. I think it’s got worse. If the Labour Party recognised
this problem then they would have more support today.”

Socialism IS solely the politics of envy.

  3. Oh gosh Tim, you are clever!
Someone makes a comment in the context of vast City bonuses which, when removed from that context, makes it sound like they don’t think average workers should get a few thousands pounds. And you pounce… pointlessly.
If I were a rabid capitalist I’d want a more convincing propagandist than you — someone who doesn’t sound like a snotty-nosed primary school smartarse.
