Criminal gangs are infiltrating schools and employing pupils as drug runners, a minister has warned.
…
A teachers’ leader said that children as young as nine were being used
as drugs mules. Mick Brookes, general secretary of the National
Association of Head Teachers and former primary school head in
Nottinghamshire, said: "I have personal experience of that happening in
the community in which I worked. These were nine-year-old children.
They were being used as ‘mules’, taking drugs from one place to
another. It’s just despicable.
Jesus, doesn’t anyone read books anymore? This is an obvious and known consequence of high penalties for drug dealing combined with with a minimum age of criminal responsibility (if that last is quite the phrase I’m looking for?).
