The spiralling extra cost of the London 2012 Olympics should be met by all British taxpayers, MPs warn today.

This comes even though people outside London are unlikely to share evenly in the benefits of the Games.

OK, everyone, open your wallets.  The incompetents have screwed up again and you’re going to be forced at gunpoint to bail them out.

Last night, officials at Miss Jowell’s department said that they were
still confident that "the benefits to this country from hosting the
Games will far outweigh the costs".
