This is a little something I’ve been paid to write about elsewhere but I think it’s interesting over and above that. Peasy.com.
It’s an online market where you can either rent or rent out any parking space you might have or desire. A driveway for example. Apparently a space near a station can make as much as £3,000 a year.
I’m not quite sure whether this will enrage greenies (making it easier to park might mean an increase in the use of cars) or placate them (making it easier to park near a station might reduce the use of cars).
Anyway, maximising the use of a scarce resource seems like a pretty good idea. Anyone actually used it? I’d love to know how efficient or not it actually is.
