I didn’t know this:
…the Prime Minister has done much to be proud of. Now he must decide exactly where Britain goes next
I thought we, Britons, individually decided where we wanted to go next and the sum of those desires was the "where" that Britain went to (in the sense that a country does in fact "go anywyere", it not being a public conveyance). Further, that we hired the Prime Minister to do those tiny bits that we can’t do individually, rather than ceding to him the power to make all the decisions.
