One of the reasons for moving to the Algarve (rather than north of Lisbon, for example) was that there are flights from here to Bristol Airport.
One of Britain’s busiest airports came to a
standstill yesterday following a row over the safety of its new £17
million resurfaced runway.
Bristol International
Airport, the ninth largest in Britain, closed its runway yesterday
afternoon, leaving scores of flights cancelled or diverted. A spokesman
said it would remain closed until lunchtime today at least.
Sigh.
