I think it’s amusing that the BBC licence fee must represent 1% of all taxation, and presumably gives better value than much of the other 99%, yet it angers right-wingers more than anything else.
Tim adds: It ought to also enrage left wingers as it is as highly regresseive as, say, the poll tax was. -
There’s certainly a case for just paying it out of income tax.
