Private Microfinance

Excellent, a self confessed Tory Boy actually putting his money where his mouth is. To good effect as well.

Now, his strapline is:

let people make their own decisions, then hold them accountable

Sounds pretty good to me. The only problem is, when will we again have a political party willing to put this into action?

  1. Thanks for the mention, Tim. Since I wrote that post, the other entrepreneur I lent to has repaid their $200 too. I am currently reloaning this cash. I see it as a personal challenge now to help the maximum possible number of people with my initial $300. For a London-based office worker, charity doesn’t get much more engaged than that!

  2. I was inspired by this little story so I’ve stuck a few $ into a couple of loans. One to a guy in Togo who repairs and sells shoes to buy stock and another to a lady in Kenya who wants to open a little food stall.
A great idea so thanks to Tim and Ross for the link/information.
