Jane Perrone

A piece with the headline:

As news broke of the airline bomb plot, how did the web respond?

We then get a description of how the Guardian Unlimited newsroom responded. Including the stunning news that free sandwiches are provided to those who have to work hard at such times.

Thrilling stuff, of course, but it’s a bit up yourself to claim that the Guardian Unlimited newsroom is the entire web isn’t it?

  1. Couldn’t agree more. Where is the reporting of views other than those of the government or neighbours of the nice boys from Walthamstow? Andrw Sullivan has some interesting things to say, as does Boing Boing (for part of the American perspective). And all the explosive drinks that are confiscated at airports – they are taken to an industrial / military complex for safe disposal are they, or are they just chucked in the nearest bin? Why don’t people THINK?
    Thanks for hosting this mini-rant.

  2. The Guardian Unlimited newsroom probably only visit a few select parts of the web – after all, it would be so traumatic to find out that other people don’t hold the same views as yourself, wouldn’t it?
Good strapline for the GU Website though: “GU Online – it’s a bit up itself”
