Played To Death

Quite a sweet little set of magazines over at Played to Death. .pdf format, free to download and some 90% of the content is reader contributed. The one I’ve had my eye on is Volume 1 Issue 4: I’m so behind the gaming curve that I’m still on Quake II, not realising that III had come out let along IV!

New issues come out every 45 days and, so they say, they pay $75 for reader generated content which they then print. Or better, actually, so they say.

Hhm. Maybe I’d be better off actually getting some of the newer games and writing about them rather than writing about the magazine the reviews turn up in?

How will we know when you are blogging for real?
Tim adds: But, but, Matthew, you assume, are insistent, that I only blog for my corporate, capitalist, masters anyway!
    Hint. Category: paid blogging.

Christ this is revolting. Is it really worth the pennies you must get per post?
Matthew – its tagged paid blogging…

Well obviously it is now, but that could be part of the game plan…

  5. I’m so far behind on my gaming that I’m still playing Sim City 2000. My relatively modern PC can’t seem to handle anything more graphically demanding. Even Quake II would confuse it’s meagre little electronic mind.
The result of this? Well, I switch off the PC and play Trivial Pursuit.

  6. Pah, bored now. Maybe worth setting up a new blog for if I get really desparate. But then I’d need a paypal account. And some way of giving them a tax code, they seem to want a US social security number.
Tim, let us know if you ever get any cash out of it. In the meantime, doesn’t Typepad give you the option of a different blog instead of /timworstall/ like you did for the 419 thing initially?
Advertisers happy as they get good page rank, us happy as we don’t have tor ead the crap…
Tim adds: Indeed, that is what will happen, assuming I do actually get paid.
