New Zealand’s Man Drought

Could be a decent place for an extended vacation:

Dr Chapple’s observations have now led to a government-funded study
that has confirmed a widening gap in New Zealand between the numbers of
well-qualified younger men and women. The study found that women
graduates aged 25-30 outnumber by a third the number of similarly
qualified men in New Zealand. Twenty years ago, 61 per cent of female
graduates had partners with similar qualifications — a figure that has
now fallen to about 50 per cent. The report says that the man shortage is forcing women to “marry down”, become solo mothers or remain single.

Interesting, no?

Formal dates were a thing of the past: “You just happen to be at the
right place at the right time, you snog somebody and then you are in
the sack — it’s not exactly a dating culture.”

Although some seem to have found their own solution:

The Wellington policy analyst said that there were other options for
single women. “All I can say is get a cat and a vibrator — it worked
for me.

  3. I have a few comments on this. I am a kiwi male, 26 years old and living in Auckland, I have been in serious relationships with about 3 kiwi girls, and at the moment have been living with my Taiwanese girlfriend for around 2 years.
I notice a LOT of kiwi women complaining about the “man drought”, saying there are not enough good men and the like. The problem is that their “ideal man” is probably gay!
It’s fine to want the following quality:
    – Good taste in music
    – Good taste in shoes
    – Dresses well
    – Ambition
But the guys that kiwi women consider to dress well are usually gay(or smart promiscuous guys).
This is only one of the reasons I believe that kiwi women are experiencing a “man drought”. The main one is this:
I see a lot of inter-racial couples, kiwi guy and Asian/Indian girl. But it is VERY rare to see a kiwi girl with an Asian or Indian guy! Kiwi women are very racist. One of the girls I work with thinks it is disgusting a kiwi guy would go out with an Asian/Indian girl. This is why she is single! Kiwi men are not as race sensitive as kiwi women in choosing partners.
I believe that kiwi women are so race sensitive due to the “peer review” process that occurs, where they are worried that their friends will not approve. I say WHO CARES, the choice of a partner should not be to impress your friends, it should be because you are attracted to them physically and emotionally!
Kiwi women need to stop being perfectionists and stop discriminating against men of different races.

Very True. I’m a kiwi guy part euro, part maori and i can sense the discrimination. However as a side note, I think kiwi women are just way too picky. Beggers can’t be choosers…
James Bond does not live in new zealand, only on tv. I’m moving oversea’s with the rest of the new zealand male population to find a woman.
