Looks like the prodnoses meddling with the advertising market have opened up a nice little business opportunity:
Food companies are using sophisticated internet
tactics to market junk food at children without their parents’
knowledge, campaigners said yesterday.
They have accused manufacturers of using unregulated websites to promote foods high in salt, sugar and fat.
Unlike television and print adverts, internet content is not covered by normal advertising codes.
So, team up with a few programmers and start writing games that advertise all those sugary, salty foods that chidren so love. Sounds good to me.
"The marketing is becoming ever more sophisticated," said Mrs Smyth.
"There are major loopholes and we want to see all activity covered."
Well, quite. Lord forbid that anyone should ever do anything that you disapprove of.
"We have no desire to see editorial content regulated, but there should be rules for junk food marketing."
Gosh that’s kind of you. You mean we do retain free speech in some limited areas then? How nice.
