Carl Mortished.

Something in The Times:

Britain is the biggest market in the EU-25
states for injection-moulded Chinese plastic. Almost half of the total
imports of toys went to the UK. The French and Italians import fewer
Chinese toys. Could it be that they are less indulgent of their
children, or do they just have better taste?

Looked at the fertility statistics lately? Could it be that the French and Italians have fewer children?

  1. Less kids in Italy definitely. Dunno about France.
But maybe they don’t go totally madly overboard for presents at Christmas like us Britons do. Its reaching quite daft extremes when I see the amount of stuff my cousins get it is far too much for them to take in on Christmas day.

With all the phlalates in that plastic, we may not be able to keep it up (!)

  3. Italy 1.28 children/woman, UK 1.66, France 1.85 according to the CIA Factbook.
